Youth Climbing Programs

The mission of the Fairbanks Youth Climbing Program is to introduce and cultivate rock climbing skills, techniques, and movement within the youth of Fairbanks.  The purpose of this mission is to enhance teamwork, communication, and confidence within our climbers.  Our teaching methods nurture this purpose.

High School Strength and Conditioning Training Clinics 

About the program:

Nanook Recreation is offering a new fitness class series focused on youth sport specific training.  These training sessions will focus on developing flexibility, strength, speed, agility and sport specific conditioning for the young athlete.  Increasing physical preparation for your sport can improve performance and decrease the likelihood of injury. Must be  15yrs to 18yrs of age.

The 4 week summer program starts June 2  and runs through June 27. Sessions are  by type of training, strength training, and speed and agility training are sold seperately in a 4 week block.

Program Content

Our program focuses on the fundamentals of athletic development
  • Increased range of motion
  • Strength and safe strength training methods for young athletes
  • Power development
  • Linear speed development
  • Lateral speed development
  • Agility
  • Plyometric training
  • Scientifically-based sport specific injury prevention measures
  • Sport specific conditioning
  • Recovery modalities
  • Education on healthy habits for a young athlete
  • Groups are limited to 10 athletes to ensure quality coaching

Workouts will be supervised by a certified strength and conditioning specialist with 17 years of collegiate strength and conditioning experience.

 Start Date = June 2 2024

   Pricing 

  • Speed and Agility Training ( 4 sessions per week ) = $320 for 4 weeks

  • Strength Training ( 4 sessions per week) = $320 for 4 weeks
