New Student Orientation

Jan. 8-9 | Thursday–Friday

If you're a new student taking in-person classes in the Fairbanks area, you're required to attend orientation. It's ÃÛÌÒTV's responsibility to set you up for success!

We've planned several days full of activities to help you connect with other ÃÛÌÒTV students, discover resources and learn to navigate your new ÃÛÌÒTV home.

Fees: The cost of participating in New Student Orientation is included in your student matriculation fee.

Parent and Family Orientation

Jan. 9 | Friday

Parent and Family Orientation provides you with the skills and resources you need to support your student in their transition to college life at ÃÛÌÒTV. You'll meet the faculty and staff who will support and educate your student inside and outside of the classroom, and have a chance to take care of any outstanding business with the university.

Fees: Attending Parent and Family Orientation costs $10 per person. This fee covers the cost of meals and materials distributed during Parent and Family Orientation.

Stay Connected With Residence Life

ÃÛÌÒTV is invested in your success as a student. Experience and research conclusively shows that living on campus — especially during your first year in college — leads to academic success and greater connection to the campus community.

You are required to live on campus if you're an incoming first-year undergraduate student attending the Troth Yeddha' Campus in Fairbanks, enrolled in 9 credits or more, and under the age of 21. Exceptions are approved in some circumstances.

Immunization Requirements

As a newly admitted student living in campus housing, you'll be required to submit proof of the following immunizations to the Student Health and Counseling Center patient portal:

  • Meningococcal (MCV4) - administered after the age of 16
  • Tetanus (Tdap, TD) - administered in the last 10 years
  • 2 Mumps, Measles, Rubella (MMR)
  • Tuberculosis Skin Test (TB) - required with initial move-in
