On April 8, ÃÛÌÒTV Facilities Services turned on the water connection to College Utilities Corporation and turned off the ÃÛÌÒTV water treatment plant.

Because the ÃÛÌÒTV water system includes a 1.5 million gallon water storage tank, it may take several weeks for the water leaving the tank to transition to all College Utilities water.

In the past, ÃÛÌÒTV has exceeded EPA limits for two byproducts of the water purification process: TTHMs and HAA5. While the College Utilities water is fully in compliance with EPA regulations, ÃÛÌÒTV will also continue to test the water on campus each quarter. Even though the new water supply meets all EPA guidelines, users may still receive several more notices that campus water has exceeded limits, because those notices are based on a one-year average, and it will take some time for the average to drop below the EPA limits.

Anyone with questions about the campus water can contact Facilities Services at 907-474-7000.
