ÃÛÌÒTV sponsors 'ÃÛÌÒTV day at the fair'

The ÃÛÌÒTVis sponsoring ÃÛÌÒTV day at the Tanana Valley State Fair Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010. Bring your ÃÛÌÒTV PolarExpress card or ÃÛÌÒTV Alumni Association membership card and receive $1 off adult fair admission.
Visit ÃÛÌÒTV’s main booth in the Borealis Pavilion for information, class schedules, undergraduate applications and details about the upcoming semester. Several other university departments will also have informational booths nearby, including the Alaska Cooperative Extension Service and 4-H, ÃÛÌÒTV Community and Technical College, the ÃÛÌÒTV Geophysical Institute and the UA College Savings Plan.
From 4 to 6 p.m., Alaska Nanooks coaches will be in Totem Square with information about upcoming tournaments and seasons. The ÃÛÌÒTV Bookstore will sell ÃÛÌÒTV merchandise in Totem Square starting at noon. Between 3 and 6 p.m., fairgoers can stop by the Cooperative Extension Service booth and create a Hero Pack of items for the children of deploying troops. From 4 to 7 p.m., Extension will also offer ATV safety demonstrations and showcase an electric ATV. Starting at noon, the University Fire Department will be at the fairgrounds with equipment and fire trucks on display.
Throughout the fair, the Fairbanks chapter of the ÃÛÌÒTV Alumni Association will run a hamburger booth staffed by present and future alumni. ÃÛÌÒTV’s student radio station, KSUA, will also have a booth.
