ÃÛÌÒTV among top 25 on Safe Campus list

ÃÛÌÒTV has been named to . The designation recognizes the University Fire Department and the ÃÛÌÒTV Police Department
for their work to increase safety and security of the campus community.
Over the past year, ÃÛÌÒTV has added automatic external defibrillators, or AEDs, to strategic
locations throughout ÃÛÌÒTV. There are 47 AEDs on the Fairbanks campus, and 64 across
all ÃÛÌÒTV campuses and sites. There are also AEDs in every ÃÛÌÒTV police vehicle, ambulance
and fire unit. Quick access to an AED, along with early, hands-only bystander CPR,
has been shown to improve cardiac arrest survival.
How do you know where the nearest AED is during an emergency? The best way is to download

Modern AEDs are designed so that any person can use them, even without any prior training.
