Six sustainability student projects approved

Six student-led sustainability projects, totaling $117,286, were approved for funding
this summer. These projects include:
- Electric carts for ÃÛÌÒTV sustainability
- Green dorm model room
- Campuswide computer shutdown
- Expanding the green bike program
- SRC solar PV project, phase III
- Battery manufacturing research
The fund is collected from ÃÛÌÒTV student fees on a per course basis. Chancellor Rogers matches whatever amount the fee generates and uses it to fund approved proposals, which contribute to the goal of reducing ÃÛÌÒTV’s non-renewable energy consumption. Each semester the and approves proposals to support ÃÛÌÒTV’s sustainability initiatives.
Proposals for the next round are due in October.
