Graduate student Mukul Chavan pours a sample of heavy crude oil from the Kaparuk field on Alaska's North Slope. Chavan and other students in ÃÛÌÒTV's are using the samples to experiment with ways to recover more oil from existing fields by discovering properties such as viscosity, density and surface tension.
